Itinerary

At the time we mentioned, our expert tour guide will pick you up to start your tour experience.

Start your tour at the Cairo Citadel, which was built by order of King Saladin. It was the largest fort and castle of the medieval period, covering 153,000 square meters. It was built between 1176 and 1183 CE to protect Cairo from the Crusaders, only a few years after Saladin defeated the Fatimid Caliphate. Saladin recycled the stones of the Giza pyramids to finish as fast as he could. It was used as the Royal Court from Al-Nasir Muhammad ibn Qalaoun until Muhammad Ali Pasha in 1807 CE. Muhammad Ali built two great palaces, Salamlik and Haremlik, and one of the masterpieces of Turkish mosques in the world, the Muhammad Ali Alabaster Mosque, in 1828 to 1848 CE. It is perched on the summit of the Citadel.

Then drive to the Mosque-Madrassa of Sultan Hasan, a massive mosque and madrassa located in the old city of Cairo. It was built during the Mamluk Islamic era in Egypt. Its construction began in 757 AH / 1356 CE, with work ending three years later without even a single day of idleness. At the time of construction, the mosque was considered remarkable for its fantastic size and innovative architectural components. It was commissioned by an-Nasir Hasan.
The Mosque of Sultan Hasan is one of the largest mosques in the world and is considered the pyramid of Islamic architecture. It measures 150 m in length and covers an area of 7,906 square meters. Its walls rise to 36 m and its tallest minaret to 68 m.

Then drive to the Mosque of Ibn Tulun, which is located in Cairo, Egypt. It is the oldest mosque in the city surviving in its original form, and it is the largest mosque in Cairo in terms of land area.
The mosque was commissioned by Ahmed ibn Tulun, the Turkish Abbasid governor of Egypt from 868 to 884, whose rule was characterized by de facto independence.

After that, finish your tour walking through Muizz Street, which is one of the oldest streets in Cairo, approximately one kilometer long. A United Nations study found it to have the greatest concentration of medieval architectural treasures in the Islamic world. The street is named for Muizz li-Din Allah, the fourth caliph of the Fatimid dynasty. The street is considered an open historical book of the Islamic history of Egypt.

After that, return to your start point.
