Itinerary

At the time we mentioned, our expert tour guide will pick you up to start your tour experience.

Start with Saqqara. While driving from Giza to Saqqara, you have a chance to get an image of real Egyptian rural life, with more than a million date palm trees.

Saqqara necropolis is 20 kilometers south of Giza. Saqqara, the oldest necropolis, belongs to Memphis, the first federal capital of Egypt. It has the Step Pyramid, the first pyramid built in the world and the first complex built of stone on earth, built by order of King Zoser, the founder of the 3rd dynasty. Saqqara then became one of the largest cemeteries in Egypt until the Greco-Roman period.

Then drive to Memphis. Memphis is the Latin name of the first federal capital of Egypt, originally Mn-Nefer, which means “the beautiful town.” It was also known as Pr-hedj, which means “the white house.” It was founded by order of Menes, the first king of the first dynasty, in 3400 BC. Here you will have a chance to see some remains of old temples, especially from the period of Ramses II. These include the great statue of Ramses II, the alabaster sphinx and the statue of the holy trinity of Memphis: Ptah, nfr-tm and Sekhmet.

After that, you will get your lunch at a good-quality restaurant.

Then drive to Dahshur. Dahshur is an Egyptian village 36 km south of the Giza Pyramids, where you can find a rare mixture of ancient history and pure nature. It is famous for three unique pyramids surrounded by palm tree jungles. The first is the Bent Pyramid, the first attempt to build a complete pyramid; it is considered the best-preserved pyramid in all of Egypt and was built by order of King Snefru. The second is the Red Pyramid, which was built 3 kilometers away to correct the engineering mistakes made in building the Bent Pyramid. The third is the Black or mud-brick pyramid, which was built by order of Amenemhat III.

After finishing, return to your start point.
