Itinerary

Early in the morning, around 3:30 AM, our representative will take you to Cairo Airport to catch your flight to Luxor. Once you arrive at Luxor Airport, you will find our expert tour guide waiting for you in front of the exit door, holding a sign with our company name, to start your tour.

Start your tour at the Colossi of Memnon of Amenhotep III, which are located on the west side of the River Nile, across from the modern city of Luxor.

Then drive to the Mortuary Temple of Hatshepsut, which was built for Queen Hatshepsut. It is located beneath the cliffs at Deir el-Bahari on the west bank of the Nile, near the Valley of the Kings. This mortuary temple is dedicated to Amun and Hatshepsut and is situated next to the mortuary temple of Mentuhotep II.

After you finish, you will have a date with history at the Valley of the Kings. It is a natural old valley in Egypt where the pharaohs buried their mummies in beautiful tombs for a period of nearly 500 years, from the 16th to the 11th century BC. Rock-cut tombs were excavated for pharaohs and powerful nobles of the New Kingdom. The valley stands on the west bank of the Nile, opposite Thebes, in the heart of the Theban Necropolis. It has 63 tombs and chambers.

Have lunch at a good-quality local restaurant.

Next, drive to the Karnak Temple Complex, which comprises a vast mix of ruined temples, chapels, pylons and other buildings near Luxor. Construction at the complex began during the reign of Senusert I in the Middle Kingdom and continued into the Ptolemaic period, although most of the existing buildings date from the New Kingdom. The area around Karnak was the main place of worship of the Eighteenth Dynasty Theban Triad, with Amun at its head.

You will finish your tour by visiting the outstandingly beautiful Luxor Temple, which was constructed approximately 1400 BC. It was dedicated to the rejuvenation of kingship. At the rear of the temple are chapels built by Amenhotep III of the 18th Dynasty and by Alexander. Other parts of the temple were built by Tutankhamun and Ramesses II. During the Roman era, the temple and its surroundings were a legionary fortress and the home of the Roman government in the area. During the Roman period, a chapel inside Luxor Temple, originally dedicated to Mut, was transformed into a Tetrarchy cult chapel and later into a church.

Finally, you will return to Luxor Airport to fly to Cairo, your start point.
