Start Time 8 AM
Start your tour at the Giza Pyramids. Once you arrive, begin with the Great Pyramid, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, which was built by order of King Cheops. It is 146 meters high, covers 1,000 square meters, and consists of more than 2.4 million stones weighing seven million tons. Enjoy walking around, then drive to the panoramic viewpoint, where you can see all the pyramids in a line and take the most memorable pictures. While driving to the Great Sphinx, you can stop in front of the pyramid of Chefren, which is 139 meters high, and the pyramid of Menkaure, which is 66 meters high. After this, you will have a moment of majesty standing in front of the Great Sphinx, which has the body of a lion and the head of a man and lies behind the Valley Temple of the second pyramid.
Then drive to Sakkara. While driving from Giza to Sakkara, you have a chance to capture an image of real Egyptian rural life, with more than a million date palm trees.
The Sakkara necropolis is 20 kilometers south of Giza. Sakkara, the oldest necropolis, belongs to Memphis, the first federal capital of Egypt. It has the Step Pyramid, the first pyramid built in the world and the first complex built of stone on earth, built by order of King Zoser, the founder of the 3rd Dynasty. Sakkara then became one of the largest cemeteries in Egypt until the Greek and Roman period.
Then drive to Memphis, the Latin name of the first federal capital of Egypt, originally Mn-Nefer, which means “the beautiful town.” It was also known as Pr-hedj, which means “the white house,” and was founded by order of Menes, the first king of the First Dynasty, in 3400 BC. Now take a look at some remains of old temples, especially from the period of Ramses II. These include the great statue of Ramses II, the alabaster sphinx, and the statues of the holy trinity of Memphis: Ptah, nfr-tm, and Sekhmet. Next, return to your hotel.

Start with the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM), also known as the Giza Museum, a major archaeological museum located near the Pyramids of Giza.

It is anticipated to be the largest archaeological museum in the world, with around 100,000 artifacts on display. Right now it holds the most important treasure ever found in the world: Tutankhamun’s tomb, which was found in 1922 by Howard Carter in the Valley of the Kings. The treasure collection includes more than 3,500 masterpieces of antiquities.

Then drive to Old Cairo, or Coptic Cairo, which is a part of Old Cairo and encompasses the Babylon Fortress, the Hanging Church, the Greek Church of St. George, and many other Coptic churches and historical sites. According to Christian tradition, the Holy Family visited this area and stayed at the site of the Church of Saints Sergius and Bacchus (Abu Serga). Coptic Cairo was a stronghold of Christianity in Egypt until the Islamic era, though most of the current church buildings in Coptic Cairo were built after the Muslim conquest of Egypt in the 7th century.
Then drive to the Cairo Citadel, which was built by order of King Saladin. It was the largest fort and castle of the medieval period, covering 153,000 square meters. It was built between 1176 and 1183 CE to protect Cairo from the Crusaders, only a few years after defeating the Fatimid Caliphate. Saladin recycled the stones of the Giza Pyramids to finish as fast as he could. It was used as a royal court from Al-Nasir Muhammad ibn Qalaoun until Muhammad Ali Pasha in 1807 CE. Muhammad Ali built two great palaces, Salamlik and Haremlik. From 1828 to 1848 CE, he also built one of the masterpieces of Turkish mosques in the world, the Muhammad Ali alabaster mosque, perched on the summit of the Citadel. After that, you will have lunch at a good-quality restaurant.
Then drive to the Khan El Khalili Bazaar, a major souk in the historic center of Islamic Cairo. The bazaar district is one of Cairo’s main attractions for tourists and Egyptians alike. Then return to the hotel.
