Itinerary

Early in the morning, at the time we mentioned, our expert tour guide will pick you up to start your tour experience.

Start your tour by visiting the Catacombs, which were built between the 2nd and 4th centuries by the Romans and were discovered by accident in 1900 AD. It is one of the largest necropolises, consisting of a series of Alexandrian tombs, statues and archaeological objects of the Pharaonic funeral cult, with Hellenistic and early Imperial Roman influences.

After you finish, about 2 km from the Catacombs, you will reach Pompey’s Pillar. It is a Roman triumphal column and one of the largest of its type constructed outside the imperial capitals of Rome and Constantinople. It is located at the Serapeum of Alexandria. It is the only known free-standing column in Roman Egypt that was not composed of drums, and it is one of the largest ancient monoliths and monolithic columns ever erected.

Then drive to the shore of Alexandria, to the spot of the old lighthouse, one of the seven ancient wonders. It collapsed completely and was replaced by Qaitbay Castle, which was built in the 15th century. Enjoy walking around the outside. Afterwards, you will have a chance to take a picture of the famous Abu-Alabbas Al-Mursi Mosque. Drive along the Corniche of Alexandria, with one stop at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, the number one library in the world, which contains more than 8 million books.

Finally, drive back to Cairo to your start point.
